To A Butterfly.

I'll let the pictures (and the poem) do the talking. Enjoy.

To A Butterfly.

I've watched you now a full half-hour;
Self-poised upon that yellow flower
And, little Butterfly! indeed
I know not if you sleep or feed.
How motionless!--not frozen seas
More motionless! and then
What joy awaits you, when the breeze
Hath found you out among the trees,
And calls you forth again!

This plot of orchard-ground is ours;
My trees they are, my Sister's flowers;
Here rest your wings when they are weary;
Here lodge as in a sanctuary!
Come often to us, fear no wrong;
Sit near us on the bough!
We'll talk of sunshine and of song,
And summer days, when we were young;
Sweet childish days, that were as long
As twenty days are now.

Stay near me--do not take thy flight!
A little longer stay in sight!
Much converse do I find in thee,
Historian of my infancy!
Float near me; do not yet depart!
Dead times revive in thee:
Thou bring'st, gay creature as thou art!
A solemn image to my heart,
My father's family!

Oh! pleasant, pleasant were the days,
The time, when, in our childish plays,
My sister Emmeline and I
Together chased the butterfly!
A very hunter did I rush
Upon the prey:--with leaps and springs
I followed on from brake to bush;
But she, God love her, feared to brush
The dust from off its wings.

It was William Wordsworth (1770-1850)'s first poem. By now you should have known that I'm so into butterflies, huh.

1, 2, 3 Love.

This card reminds me of this song:

Plain White T's -1,2, 3, 4.

Love comes in many shapes and sizes.

This card took me nearly three hours just to do the hand stitching job. It should be easier if I use the sewing machine, but the thrill of hand stitching beats the machine, I guess. The first thing crossed my mind was the complicated technicality of arranging how the stitches should be, and which way should it go.

Just like love, I thought. Complex and complicated.

But once I finished the card, I realised that it's not really as complex and complicated as it has always been seen.

This card has showed me that no matter how complicated and complex our life is, love is the one that keep us going. No matter how twisted, and entangled the paths may be.

The stitches represents the roads that I take every single day of my lives, and whoa, they sure did look like some complicated roads haha. Regardless, I'm glad that even after some lost ways and dead ends, these loves are always there to support me, and give me strengths.

Alhamdulillah.

Measuring Happiness

What measuring tapes are for?

This card was made on a very sunny day, and lights were peeking through my room's window. And all I could think of was: How could I measure how beautiful today is?

So I used an IKEA measuring tape and few quilling flowers to measure my day. Heh. Who said you can't measure happiness? I just did. :P

This is a very simple card made in less than 5 minutes (I have the flowers ready beforehand). So go get your free IKEA measuring tapes and starts splashing your creativity now! Have fun! :)

A robot-full of love.

One of the hundred reasons of why I'm not updating this blog is the guilt that strikes me every time I touch the papers. Or the scissors.

"My main priority now is to complete my thesis, not to start crafting again."

That's a chant I kept on repeating inside my head. The chant that torments my heart for the past few months.

Oh well, I still do crafts, I still hold scissors, and I still buy papers. But the guilt feeling is still there, thus holding me up. Haha. Excuses. Excuses. Excuses.

A glitter pink heart made to flatter everyone. Thus this entry is made to tell everyone (who would listen) that my heart is still here. And this blog will still be up, to stay. I may not be able to update as regularly as possible, and oh, to the emailers, I'm really, truly sorry for not being able to keep up with you guys. I will try my very best to reply your emails as soon as I can find time.

I know. It's the worst excuse I can come up with. *Shy*

I might wish to be a robot, but I wish that I'm a robot that comes with a glitter pink heart. So I could tell everyone how much I love you guys for being here, and how much I appreciate your concerns. And thank you for the wonderful emails, and requests. And I'm truly sorry for not being able to attend to some of requests. I'll try making up with you guys later k!

So here I am, still as guilty as ever, to myself, to my thesis.. but especially to you, my frequent readers who keep on clicking this blog.

So I made this card, with a delicate hand, and a robot-full of love, to tell everyone that the heart still glitters. :)
